Certifications

EFE holds enterprise-wide certifications of compliance with ISO, UL, and J-STD. Our IPC, ETL, and CSA compliance, meanwhile, is a clear indication of our commitment to superior product quality and process-oriented excellence. It’s all part of the foundation of quality on which we build our business relationships.

IPC provides a standard work-content definition to ensure the highest end-product quality and reliability.  This quality foundation allows customers to be confident in their decision to choose EFE.  Our IPC and similar compliance certifications are verifiable proof that we meet an entire spectrum of required specifications, from common industry applications to the most complicated military products.

AS 9100D and ISO 9001:2015

EFE is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D (effective October 30, 2019; Certification Registration No. 951 13 6410), demonstrating our commitment to efficient, consistent, and well-defined quality management processes. These certifications support strong communication, regulatory compliance, and aerospace-specific quality and safety standards, ensuring reliable service and enhanced value for our customers.

ITAR Certification

EFE Laboratories is proud to be a registered manufacturer by the Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR Part 122.5) registrant code of ME35003.

UL-508A

UL-508A

As the UL standard for the construction of industrial control panels, 508A guides panel builders on proper component selection, wiring methods, the calculation of short circuit current ratings, and more. Our compliance with UL 508A gives our customers the assurance of a broadly accepted panel standard. Along with EFE’s quality reputation, proper form and function are embedded in the build quality of their product.

IPC-A-610

IPC-A-610

The IPC-A-610 standard relates to printed circuit manufacturing and process control, including standardization for major attributes such as solder integrity, electrostatic discharge (ESD) management, etc. As the industry standard for the visual acceptance of mechanical and other requirements associated with completed electronic assemblies, IPC-A-610 establishes a foundation for common performance expectations.

IPC/WHMA-A-620A

IPC/WHMA-A-620A

IPC/WHMA-A-620A is the certification for cable and wire harness assemblies; it pertains to wiring, wiring harnesses, and control panels, creating a common level of expectation for the functional assembly of electrical equipment. This standard addresses wire runs, crimping, and other attributes of the assembly process.

J-STD-001, and More

J-STD-001, and More

For added assurance, rely on the fact that EFE uses J-standard soldering (i.e. IPC J-STD-001C, the only remaining industry standard for soldering) as part of all electrical engineering assemblies. J-STD-001 replaces MIL-STD-2000 and is parallel to, but more recent than, IPC-A-610. These standards outline and emphasize similar production methodologies, and in complying with each, EFE underscores its in-depth approach to conformity and the importance of standards-based quality.
